Precision cold drawn steel pipe

Precision cold drawn steel pipe is a high-precision steel pipe material made from seamless cold drawn pipes as raw materials, through precise tolerance control and surface gloss processing.

Product overview

Precision cold drawn steel pipe is a high-precision steel pipe material made from seamless cold drawn pipes as raw materials, through precise tolerance control and surface gloss processing.

Product features

High precision: The inner and outer diameter dimensions have high precision, with the outer diameter accuracy of conventional products reaching ± 0.05mm or even higher, and the wall thickness tolerance is also within a small range. This high-precision size control ensures the stability and consistency of the pipe during the manufacturing process.
High smoothness: The surface has good smoothness, and after cold drawing treatment, the surface roughness is low. There is no oxide layer on the inner and outer surfaces, and the inner wall cleanliness is good.
Excellent performance: able to withstand complex deformation treatments such as high pressure, cold bending, expansion, and flattening without cracking or wrinkling. At the same time, it has good mechanical processing performance, which is conducive to subsequent processing and use.

Production process

The production process of precision cold drawn steel pipes is complex and refined, mainly including the following steps:
Material preparation: Select high-quality steel billets as raw materials, undergo strict inspection and screening to ensure that the chemical composition and mechanical properties meet the standards.
Steel pipe pickling: Remove impurities such as rust and oxide scale on the surface of the steel billet to ensure the smooth progress of the next cold drawing process.
Heating and perforation of steel pipes: Heat the steel billet to an appropriate temperature and pierce it into hollow tubes through a perforating machine. This step is the key to precision steel pipe production, determining the shape and dimensional accuracy of the capillary tube.
Cold drawing processing: Place the perforated tube into a cold drawing machine, and through multiple cold drawing processes, gradually reduce the aperture, extend the tube length, and reduce the wall thickness. During the cold drawing process, the pipe undergoes multiple rounds of extrusion and stretching, resulting in further improvement of the size and quality of the inner and outer surfaces.
Straightening and finishing: Precision seamless steel pipes after cold drawing may have certain bending and deviation, and require straightening treatment. Subsequently, finishing processes such as cutting and polishing are carried out to improve the dimensional accuracy and surface quality of the steel pipe.
Cleaning and Testing: Conduct inspections on the internal and external surface defects, dimensions, physical properties, and other aspects of cold drawn pipes to ensure product quality and performance.
Non destructive testing: Ultrasonic or X-ray testing is used to detect and eliminate internal defects in precision cold drawn tubes, ensuring the defect free nature of the product.

Application area

Precision cold drawn steel pipes are used in the following fields due to their high precision, high smoothness, and excellent performance:
Precision machinery: used for manufacturing precision instruments and equipment, such as machine tools, hydraulic systems, etc.
Electronic devices: components such as connectors and heat sinks used in electronic devices.
Automotive parts: Manufacturing key components such as engine parts and brake systems.
Other fields, such as hydraulic systems, injection molding machines, hydraulic presses, shipbuilding, etc., require high precision and surface quality of pipes.
