Production process
Raw material selection: Seamless steel pipes are usually used as raw materials for cold drawn pipes, which require a smooth surface, no cracks, no inclusions or other defects.
Preprocessing: Straighten the raw materials to eliminate bending and twisting of the steel pipes, ensuring their stability during the stretching process. Subsequently, lubricant is applied to the surface of the steel pipe to reduce frictional resistance during the stretching process and improve the stretching efficiency of the steel pipe.
Cold drawing processing: Place the pre treated steel pipe into a cold drawing machine, and use a stretching mold to forcibly stretch the steel pipe to the required size and accuracy. The cold drawing process usually adopts a multi pass reduction process, and the deformation of each pass is controlled within a certain range to ensure the quality of the pipe.
Finishing process: including finished product heat treatment, straightening, sampling, cutting head and tail, inspection (manual inspection and various non-destructive testing), hydrostatic testing, oiling, packaging, warehousing and other steps. These processes aim to further improve the dimensional accuracy, surface quality, and mechanical properties of the pipes.
Product features
High precision: Cold drawn pipes have high dimensional accuracy, with a small tolerance range for outer diameter and wall thickness, which can meet the requirements of high dimensional accuracy.
High smoothness: The inner and outer surfaces of cold drawn pipes are smooth with low roughness, which helps reduce fluid resistance in the pipeline and improve its corrosion resistance.
Good mechanical properties: After cold drawing processing, the hardness of the material is improved, but the plasticity is reduced. However, its mechanical performance indicators such as tensile strength and yield strength are usually superior to hot-rolled pipes.
Strong customizability: The outer diameter, wall thickness, and length of cold drawn tubes can be customized according to customer needs to meet the requirements of different application scenarios.
Application area
Cold drawn tubes are used in the following fields due to their high precision, high smoothness, and good mechanical properties:
Mechanical manufacturing: used for manufacturing precision mechanical parts and structural components, such as automotive engine parts, precision instrument components, etc.
Hydraulic equipment: used to manufacture key components such as hydraulic cylinders, piston rods, etc., to ensure the normal operation of hydraulic systems.
Aerospace: Used to manufacture structural components and connectors for aircraft, rockets, and other aerospace vehicles, meeting high requirements for material performance.
Petrochemical industry: a pipeline system used for transporting high-pressure fluids such as oil, natural gas, and other media.
